The Elation Path has secured its sustain, and she's one of the Ten Stonehearts of the IPC. Pearl is introduced in Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.6 as a 5-star Ice character on the Path of Elation.
As the first Elation sustain in the game, she fills a gap the archetype has carried since Silver Wolf Lv.999 arrived. She heals, blocks incoming damage through her Certified Banger resource, advances ally actions, and makes every Elation character on the team hit harder.

Honkai: Star Rail Pearl is a 5-star Ice character that acts as a solo Elation healer in HSR. She offers sustain and Elation support through DEF-based healing and damage mitigation, along with elevating the strength of Elation-centric teams.
Pearl's kit defies conventional categorization. She walks the Preservation Path in the story, yet plays as Elation in combat. This explains why her kit blocks damage like a Preservation unit while feeding Elation resources like a support.
Her entire kit scales off DEF, as her heals, damage, and damage-blocking all flow from that single stat. ATK contributes nothing to her output. Her Certified Banger resource is the core of her protection mechanic. Each stack converts into 200 Repellency, which blocks 60% of incoming damage for an ally.
Overall, the reason HSR Pearl exists is simple. Older sustain units can keep an Elation team alive, but they don't count as Elation characters themselves. Pearl does.
Pearl Skill and Kits
Pearl's kit runs on two parallel systems. There is Certified Banger for protection and Deep Learning for offensive amplification. Every action she takes either builds those resources or spends them at the right moment. So you can get the most from the HSR Pearl build when you run both consistently.
Basic Attack
Basic Attack: Brushstroke: Trace the Severed Stream
A standard single-target Ice hit equal to 90% of Pearl's DEF. Rarely used in practice since her Enhanced versions replace it once Deep Learning activates.
Enhanced Basic Attack: Brushstroke: Render the Great Wave
Active during Deep Learning. Hits all enemies for 100% DEF-based Ice DMG and heals the entire party, with a second top-up going to the lowest-HP ally on top. Consumes 1 Deep Learning Charge per use.
Enhanced Basic Attack: Brushstroke: Imagenate the Starry Night
The stronger version that is available when the Aesthetic Archetype is an Elation character. Same AoE hit and team healing as Render the Great Wave, but adds an Ice Elation follow-up equal to 15% of Pearl's DEF against each target. This is why Pearl should almost always target an Elation carry with her Ultimate.
Skill: Relume Life's Light
Pearl's primary healing tool. Restores HP for the whole team based on 12% of her DEF, with the lowest-HP ally receiving a second heal on top. Also generates 15 Certified Banger, which makes it a sustain action and a resource builder. Once Sensory Latitude unlocks, the Skill also cleanses 1 debuff from every ally simultaneously.
Ultimate: Appraise Soul's Ground
Generates 20 Certified Bangers and applies Deep Learning to one chosen ally. It designates them as the Aesthetic Archetype. What Deep Learning does to that ally's action depends on how many Elation characters are on the team:
- 1 Elation character — Advances the Archetype's action by 10%
- 2 Elation characters — Advances by 15%
- 3 Elation characters — Advances by 30%
- 4 Elation characters — Grants a full extra turn. At the start of that turn, the Archetype receives 30 Certified Banger and 60 Punchline. Both disappear when the turn ends.
Deep Learning itself runs for 3 Charges, with each Enhanced Basic ATK consuming one. It ends when all Charges are gone. While active, Pearl also deals additional Ice Elation DMG equal to 60% calculated from the Aesthetic Archetype's own stats, which is another reason to always target the main damage dealer.
Talent: Grow Grace from Grit
It is the defensive foundation of Pearl's entire kit. Certified Banger converts into Repellency at 200 points per stack, which Pearl build automatically spends to block 60% of incoming damage for any ally taking a hit. The reserve never expires and caps at 50 stacks. Allies sitting at or below 50% HP receive an additional 30% DMG reduction on top. So, Pearl's protection is more effective when the team is under pressure.
Elation Skill: Dissolve Reason into Elation
After each ally attack, all teammates deal bonus Elation DMG of their own type to the target. The scaling tier jumps with each additional Elation character:
- 1 Elation — +10% Elation follow-up
- 2 Elation — +15%
- 3 Elation — +20%
- 4 Elation — +40%
The gap between three and four Elation characters is not incremental (it doubles the bonus). This is the single biggest mechanical reason Pearl prefers a full four-Elation lineup over any other composition.
Technique: Recast Masterwork in Nacre
Before entering battle, activating the Technique designates the active character as Aesthetic Archetype. The battle starts with Pearl gaining 20 Certified Banger and that ally entering Deep Learning with 2 Charges pre-loaded. Swap to your main carry before using the Technique to make sure the right character gets the pre-battle Deep Learning window.
Trace Priority
Skill ≈ Elation Skill > Talent > Ultimate > Basic ATK
Skill is the crucial active healing tool in the best Pearl build, while the Talent reflects the power of her emergency damage reduction. However, the Elation Skill is also very crucial to level for Elation teams because the investment leads to a significant rise in its damage multiplier.
Ultimate is also crucial, even though its key effects (action advance, Deep Learning, and the four-Elation extra turn) are not fully tied to its damage multiplier.

Colors for Tomorrow (Best)
Colors for Tomorrow is the signature Pearl light cone. The +48% DEF scales healing, Repellency, and Panoptic Vision. Heals all allies when using Elation Skill and increases enemy DMG taken by 10% base, scaling up to 22% in a four-Elation team.
Mushy Shroomy's Adventures
Mushy Shroomy's Adventures is another alternative best budget Pearl light cone that offers +12% Elation. Enemies take 6% more Elation DMG for 2 turns after Elation Skill use. It is easy to trigger and fits naturally into her rotation.
Diviner of Distant Reach
Diviner of Distant Reach works if Evanescia isn't already using it. It provides SPD and CRIT Rate for a smoother rotation.
Pearl Best Relics
Dreamlit Actor
Dreamlit Actor is the best relic for the Pearl build in HSR.
- 2-Pc: +6% SPD
- 4-Pc: Using a Skill or Ultimate on a single ally grants that target 16% more Elation for 3 turns. With at least 10 Certified Banger, the wearer also increases every ally's CRIT DMG by 12% for 3 turns.
Pearl activates both effects with ease. Her Ultimate targets the Aesthetic Archetype, and her standard rotation steadily builds Certified Banger.
Diviner of Distant Reach
Diviner of Distant Reach is an alternative Pearl relic when you need extra SPD and an additional source of team Elation.
- 2-Pc: +6% SPD
- 4-Pc: At 120/160 SPD, the wearer gains 10%/18% CRIT Rate. The first Elation Skill used in each battle also grants the entire team 10% more Elation.
For a sustain-focused Pearl, the CRIT Rate is less valuable, but the SPD requirement and teamwide Elation boost still provide useful benefits.
Messenger Traversing Hackerspace
This is a practical support option in your Pearl HSR 4.6 build when your Dreamlit Actor relics have poor stats. Using an Ultimate on an ally raises the whole team's SPD by 12% for 1 turn, and Pearl can activate it naturally with her Ultimate.
Best Planar Ornaments
Sprightly Vonwacq
It grants 5% Energy Regeneration Rate and advances Pearl's action by 40% at the beginning of combat if she reaches 120 SPD. This helps her take an early turn and recharge her 180-Energy Ultimate more consistently.
Lushaka, the Sunken Seas
This set provides 5% Energy Regeneration Rate and gives the first character in the lineup 12% more ATK, provided Pearl is not placed in that position. Choose it when your primary damage dealer benefits a lot from ATK.
Broken Keel

Pearl's value scales with Elation teammates. She functions as a generic healer elsewhere but only reaches her true ceiling in a four-Elation lineup.
Premium Four-Elation Team
This is a premium Pearl Elation team. Silver Wolf Lv.999 drives damage. Pearl provides sustain and Certified Banger protection. Yao Guang amplifies Elation output. Elation Trailblazer rounds out the four-Elation count to unlock Pearl's full kit. Sparxie can substitute for Trailblazer in this lineup.
