Yao Guang is a Physical Elation support in Honkai: Star Rail. She focuses on increasing her team's damage through Elation buffs and Punchline generation. Her Basic Attacks deal physical damage while generating energy.

Who is Yao Guang? A Quic

Yao Guang Skill (Decalight Unveils All) creates a zone that enhances allies' Elation and generates extra Punchlines. Her Ultimate (Hexagram of Feathered Fortune) adds more Punchlines and causes an extra turn, along with increasing all allies' RES Penetration. This further enhances team damage. Her talents convert allies' attacks into bonus Elation damage and scale off her stats when theirs are lower.

In lore, HSR Yao Guang is one of the seven Arbiter-Generals of the Xianzhou Alliance's Cloud Knights who presides over the Xianzhou Yuque. She is known as the Seer Strategist, who is sophisticated and a tactical force on the battlefield. Overall, she is the first new character in Version 4.0 and serves as a reliable support.

The Complete Yao Guang Kit

Let's now look at everything included in the Yao Guang kit:

Basic ATK

Whistlebolt Sings Joy

Inflicts Physical Damage equal to 90% of Yao Guang's Attack on a single target and 30% of his Attack as Physical Damage to nearby enemies. Improves Energy recovery from Basic Attacks.

Skill

Skill

Decalight Unveils All

Places a Zone lasting 3 turns, with its duration reduced by 1 at the start of Yao Guang's turn. While active, the Zone increases all allies' Elation by 15% of Yao Guang's Elation. Plus, each time Yao Guang kit uses a Basic Attack or Skill, she gains 3 Punchline Points.

Ultimate

Ultimate

Hexagram of Feathered Fortune

Gets 5 Punchline Points and causes an extra turn for Aha, counting a fixed 20 Punchline Points. During this turn, Punchlines are not consumed, and all allies gain 20% All-Type RES Penetration for 3 turns.

Talent

Behold Wherever Light Unfolds

While Honkai: Star Rail Yao Guang has "Certified Banger", allies activate the "Great Boon" effect after performing an attack. It deals additional Elation DMG equal to 24% of Yao Guang's corresponding Type to a random target. For each Skill Point consumed during the attack, "Great Boon" causes one extra time, up to 3 times per attack.

The additional Elation DMG is calculated using Yao Guang's Elation when the attacker's Elation is lower than Yao Guang's.

Activating "Great Boon" does not count as performing an attack.

Technique

Untethered Glimmer Sails Far

After activating the Technique, the Yao Guang Skill is automatically cast once at the start of the next battle without consuming Skill Points. While she is in the team, destroying breakable objects instantly grants "Red Envelope", up to 8 times per Earth Week.

Elation Skill

Let Thy Fortune Burst in Flames

Applies "Woe's Whisper" to all enemies for 3 turns, which increases the damage they take by 10%. Deals Physical Elation Damage equal to 80% to all targets, then follows up with 5 additional hits, each dealing 20% Physical Elation Damage to a random enemy.

Bonus Ability

1. Amaze-In Grace

When Yao Guang's SPD reaches 120 or higher, her Elation is increased by 30%. For every additional point of SPD beyond 120, she gains 1% more Elation, up to a maximum bonus based on 200 excess SPD.

2. Poised and Sated

Increases Yao Guang's CRIT DMG by 60%. After she uses her Elation Skill, the team recovers 1 Skill Point, which improves rotation efficiency.

3. Felicity Ensemble

When Yao Guang kit gains Certified Banger, its duration is extended by 1 turn. This allows her buffs and effects to stay active longer.
