Zenless Zone Zero 2.8 Tier List Overview! Promeia and Starlight Billy Arrive!
2026-05-19

Welcome to the Zenless Zone Zero 2.8 version Agent Tier Ranking. Before the upcoming 3.0 update, let’s review the current strength ranking of all Agents available in ZZZ. This guide will help you understand the strongest team compositions and the individual power levels of each Agent. It also serves as a reliable reference for planning your pulls.
ZZZ Character Ranking Criteria
The tiers are based on each Agent’s overall performance in real combat situations, factoring in their combat ability, support potential, and team synergy. Understanding these aspects will help you build optimal lineups for high-difficulty stages.
S/T0
Top-tier “must-have” Agents who excel in all types of content. They perform exceptionally well even with minimal manual control, making them highly recommended for both new and veteran players.
| T0 |
A/T1
Powerful Agents that perform great across most challenges but may fall slightly behind S-tier ones in terms of numbers or mechanics. Still very capable of handling high-difficulty content with ease.
| T1 | ||||||
B/T2
Decent Agents who can deal with most situations effectively. They may shine in specific setups or mechanics but require more tactical team building and battlefield awareness to reach their full potential.
| T2 | ||||||
C/T3
Average Agents that can still participate in difficult missions but demand more skill execution or heavier investment to achieve satisfactory results.
| T3 | |||||
D/T4
Outdated Agents whose stats or mechanics lag behind the current version. Not recommended for use in most team compositions.
| T4 | |||||
How Characters Are Ranked (Meta Factors)
The ZZZ meta ranking evaluates characters based on a combination of performance metrics, flexibility, and synergy potential, giving players a clear picture of each unit’s value in Version 2.7. Key factors include:
1. Damage Output
Measures both burst and sustained DPS
Evaluates scaling with equipment, Drive Discs, and anomaly triggers
High-output characters are more valuable in boss fights and deep dives
2. Team Synergy
Considers how a character enhances or benefits from other agents
Includes anomaly interactions, elemental buffs, debuff application, and stun utility
Characters with strong synergy often outperform raw damage stats alone
3. Versatility
Ability to function in multiple team comps or roles (DPS, support, stun/control)
Flexibility makes a character valuable across both casual and endgame content
Example: Nangong Yu’s hybrid Stun + Anomaly design allows her to fit into multiple comps
4. Ease of Use
How forgiving a character is for players without perfect gear or rotations
Easy-to-use units can perform reliably even in F2P or semi-optimal builds
5. Banner Accessibility & Cost Efficiency
Assesses whether the character can be acquired easily from banners or free sources
Characters that are strong but difficult to pull may rank lower in practical terms
By considering these factors together, players can identify not only who is strong individually but also who contributes most effectively to team performance. This approach ensures the tier list is practical for roster planning and pull prioritization.
Banner Pull Recommendations
For new players, it’s advised to prioritize pulling high-tier Agents from the top of the ranking as the core members of your team.
Veteran players, on the other hand, may focus on completing or optimizing specific lineups.
That said, apart from high-difficulty content, many Agents remain viable in most of the current environments. Keep in mind that your progression level and gameplay skill greatly influence overall team output.
This ranking serves only as a reference—your pulling preferences and favorite characters should always come first.
