Velina Build: Best W-Engines, Drive Discs & Teams | ZZZ 3.0
2026-05-21

Velina is an S-Rank Wind Anomaly Agent and the first Wind-attribute character to join the ZZZ roster in Version 3.0. She is a Slash specialist and high-pressure Anomaly DPS who brings a fresh and fast-paced playstyle. This ZZZ Velina build guide covers all about the character, including her kit, materials, best Drive Discs and W-Engines, team compositions, and more.
Velina Character Overview
| Rarity | S-rank | |
| Attribute | Wind | |
| Specialty | Anomaly |
Velina Airgid is an S-Rank Wind Anomaly Agent whose entire combat identity revolves around keeping the field active and the pressure constant. She chains from Basic Attack into Assist Follow-Up, then deploys her Gale Field the moment Wind Energy hits the threshold. She rains continuous Wind DMG on enemies and also pulls the previous character back in through Quick Assist.
Her defensive toolkit is also polished. Her EX attacks carry dodge properties, while a Defensive Assist absorbs hits cleanly. The invulnerable follow-ups keep her safe without breaking her rhythm. This makes her a character who never really leaves the fight, even when she's not on the field.
Velina Skills and Kit Breakdown
Moving on to our ZZZ Velina build guide, the major focus of Velina's kit is to build Wind Energy and drop Gale Field, while keeping pressure running even when she steps off. Every skill connects to the next, so her rotation feels smooth.
Basic Attack
Basic Attack: Fan Dance

- After the 4th hit, hold Basic Attack with enough Assist Points to consume 2 Assist Points and chain into Assist Follow-Up.
Basic Attack: Fan Dance - Eye of the Storm
- When Wind Energy hits 90+, hold Basic Attack to summon a Gale Field that continuously deals Wind DMG to surrounding enemies every 0.5s for 5 seconds.
- It also triggers the previous character's Quick Assist.
- It can also be activated by holding Special Attack after Assist Follow-Up or EX Special Attack.
Dodge
- Breezeflow: Tap Dodge for a quick invulnerable dash.
- Wind Step: Press Basic Attack mid-dodge for a fast forward Wind DMG strike.
- Cloud Breaker: Press Basic Attack after a Perfect Dodge to launch a full Wind DMG combo.
Assist
- Emergency Protocol: When an ally gets launched, press Assist to jump in with a Wind DMG series.

- Press EX Special when having enough Energy to dodge backward while launching a massive wind projectile for Wind DMG.
- Successfully dodging an attack during the backward movement triggers Vital View.
- Afterwards, press Basic Attack to chain into the 5th hit, or press Special Attack with enough Assist Points to activate Assist Follow-Up.
Wind Shear - Triple Severance (EX)
- After Rising Clarity, Quick Assist, Dodge Counter, or Assist Follow-Up, hold Special Attack to continuously swing the fan for Wind DMG.
- Press Basic Attack afterwards to chain into the 5th hit.
Chain Attack: Whirling Sonata
- When triggered, Velina transforms into a hurricane and delivers consecutive attacks ending in a Finishing Move for massive Wind DMG.
Ultimate: Heed the Howl
At maximum Decibel Rating, press Ultimate to deliver multiple forward attacks and deal massive Wind DMG.
Core Passive: Angel & Witch
- Every 0.01 Energy Regen above 1 adds 0.6 Anomaly Mastery and 0.3% DMG. Stack Energy Regen to scale both.
- Entering the field grants 45 Wind Energy. Every EX Special activation grants another 45. Max cap is 135 Wind Energy.
- When Gale Field hits enemies under Contamination, it triggers the Dye effect, which converts into that element's Gale Field and deals corresponding attribute DMG.
- Gale Field hits reduce enemy Wind Anomaly Buildup RES and corresponding post-Dye RES by 8% for 40s. It resets on retrigger.
- Triggering Vortex summons Little Wind Currents that deal Wind DMG. When Little Wind Currents or Gale Field hit enemies already under Wind Anomaly, they deal Abloom DMG, which is an extra Anomaly hit at 230% and 365% Wind Anomaly DMG multipliers, respectively.
- Every Vortex trigger (max once every 3s) gives 1 Enhancement Point. At 2 Enhancement Points, the next Vortex deals 300% more DMG and summons a full Gale Field instead of Little Wind Currents.
Additional Ability: Tea Party Etiquette
Active when another Anomaly or same-attribute character is on the squad:
- Windswept and Vortex DMG increases by 15%.
- Activating Ultimate grants 2 Enhancement Points instantly.
- Gale Field's Anomaly Buildup RES reduction gets an extra 8% on top of the Core Passive's base 8% (totaling 16% shred).

Velina Best W-Engines
Velina has not been officially released yet. The W-Engine details below are based on beta data and early leaks related to the Velina build. Numbers/names and effects are subject to change before Version 3.0 goes live. Treat this as a planning reference.
Signature W-Engine (Name TBD)
| Base ATK | Energy Regen |
| 713 | 60% |
The current beta information reflects that Velina's signature W-Engine will be a perfect fit for her kit. It would offer:
- +105 Anomaly Proficiency
- Every EX Special activation stacks +10% Vortex and Windswept DMG for 40 seconds, up to 2 times
Velina Mindscapes Cinema
| M1 | Orderly Elegance | Entering the field grants 30 Energy and fixes her early rotation energy issuesTriggering Vortex or Windswept ignores 15% of the target's All-Attribute RES |
| M2 | Saturation Protocol | Each Windswept trigger generates 1 Enhancement Point (once every 5s max).Dyed Gale Field gains the ability to build Anomaly Buildup of the absorbed attribute. This buildup doesn't count toward the Anomaly DMG calculation. |
| M3 | Ceremonial Conquest | Basic Attack, Chain Attack, Special Attack, and Dodge, Assist gain +2 skill levels |
| M4 | Tea Time is Judgment Time | 10% ATK increaseSuccessfully dodging an attack through Rising Clarity's Vital View restores 1 Assist Point |
| M5 | Death Witch | Basic Attack, Chain Attack, Special Attack, and Dodge, Assist gain another +2 skill levels |
| M6 | Head Angel | Negotiation Technique's heavy attack hitting a Wind Anomaly-afflicted enemy triggers Abloom DMG, an extra Anomaly hit at a fixed 60% Wind Anomaly DMG multiplierAll of Velina's attacks hitting Wind Anomaly enemies increase Anomaly Buildup by 20%Reapplying Windswept on an already-afflicted enemy scales the new Windswept's DMG based on the previous one's remaining duration, every second left adds 2% more DMG, capping at +36% |
Recommended Stopping Point
- F2P players: M1 is the sweet spot for Velina build. It solves energy flow and adds decent RES shred without requiring further investment.
- Whale players: M6 unlocks her full Abloom potential and turns Windswept reapplication into a serious damage multiplier.
Velina Best Team Compositions
| DPS | Sub-DPS | Support |
This is Velina's strongest theoretical team at launch. Velina anchors the team by keeping Gale Field active and shredding enemy Anomaly Buildup RES. Promeia capitalizes on Windswept to trigger Abloom for 635% Attribute Anomaly DMG and strip 40% DEF with Vessel of Ice. Yuzuha increases the squad's ATK by up to 1,200 and reduces enemy RES through Sweet Scare.
Note: Team recommendations in our ZZZ Velina build guide are based on current beta data and early theorycrafting. Final compositions may shift once ZZZ Version 3.0 launches.
Conclusion
Velina is leading the storm in Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.0. She is the first Wind Anomaly Agent in the game and offers unique mechanics, including Gale Field pressure and Vortex detonations.
We will sum up this ZZZ Velina build guide by saying that Velina looks ready to become a strong Anomaly carry due to her constant field control and powerful Abloom interactions. So, don't forget to top up your ZZZ account through BuffBuff and make sure you're ready when she arrives on June 17.
