Honor of Kings S16 New Heroes
Season 16 brings two new heroes to the game, though two of them are really the same character in different forms.
Wang Wei
Wang Wei is a Mid Lane Mage inspired by the Tang Dynasty poet and painter known as the "Poetic Buddha." He arrives on October 8.
His design leans hard into traditional Chinese aesthetics: silver-white hair tied with green bamboo leaves, a deep blue and cream robe, a red berry bracelet on his wrist, and mist swirling around him. The concept video calls out three design elements specifically — mist, ornamental floral motifs, and red berries.
A quick heads-up: Honor of Kings hasn't released his full kit on the international server yet. The skill details below come from the Chinese version, so the final English names may differ once he launches. Treat this as a preview, not official info.
- Passive: Builds stacks over time. At max stacks, he dodges the next instance of damage.
- Skill 1: Creates a damaging zone with a slow effect on detonation.
- Skill 2: Deals damage and knocks back enemies.
- Ultimate: Enters a spirit form that travels across the map, ignoring walls. A second cast teleports his body to the spirit's location.
More details should surface closer to his actual release.
Dun Shan
Dun Shan is a Support/Tank who's been on the Chinese server for years and is finally making the jump to the international version. His passive blocks bullet-type skills, which makes him a natural counter to marksmen. He can also merge with towers to repair and defend them. Pair him with a marksman for a mobile artillery setup, or hand him to a fighter for quick charges into the fight.
Dark Tale: Magic Mirror Angela Skin
Angela is getting a new Mythic skin called Dark Tale: Magic Mirror Angela. It arrives on September 23, the same day as the season itself. You can get it through Point Draw or Lucky Burst, both running a limited-time 25% discount.
Flowborn: The Multi-Class Hero
Flowborn isn't a traditional new hero. It's a multi-class hero system — one character that can switch between different class forms. Season 16 adds two new variants: Assassin and Roamer/Support.
Flowborn (Assassin)
The Assassin variant is a young man with short hair, dressed in a black and white martial arts outfit. He wields dual glowing claws. His kit revolves around weaving attacks together, and his multi-stage ultimate chains further by consuming Flow Marks.
Flowborn (Roamer/Support)
The Roamer/Support variant is a woman in a white elegant dress. She converts gathered Flow into ranged sonic attacks. Her second skill summons a formation that gives allies shields, vision, and extra attack range. Her ultimate releases a healing and damaging sonic wave that bounces off walls.
Flowborn already has Tank, Mage, and Marksman forms in the game. Season 16 adds the Assassin and Roamer/Support variants, completing the five-path lineup.
Flow State and Hero Adjustment
The biggest change this season isn't a hero at all. It's Flow State, a season-limited common skill that cuts every current skill cooldown by 50%. Every player gets access to it, so it changes the math of every teamfight for all ten players on the map.
One important note: Flow State is only available during Season 16. Once the season ends, the skill goes away. So if you want to use it, you only have this season to do it.
Flow State doesn't stop at cooldown reduction, either. It also grants a class-dependent bonus effect, and the preview shows five distinct versions:
- Flow Claws for Assassins
- Flow Artifact for Mages (damage over time and slow)
- Flow Guqin for Supports (healing and magic damage)
- Flow Shield for Tanks and Fighters (shield and physical knock-up)
- Flow Crossbow for Marksmen
The preview doesn't name these five effects individually, so which class benefits most is still an open question. Here's my read on it, though: heroes with long-cooldown ultimates stand to gain more from a reset than heroes running short, spammable kits.
Alongside Flow State, season 16 brings changes to three existing heroes: Umbrosa, Flowborn (Mage) , and Luara.
Umbrosa gets a skill revamp that makes her shadow and main-body interactions smoother. Her movement and skill chaining feel faster, and the shadow particles are clearer now.
Flowborn (Mage) gets a balance adjustment tied to the Flow theme. His cooldown and magic power stacking are optimized, and his long-range skills have less recovery time.
Luara gets a quality-of-life update on her ultimate. Before, the wind-up was longer and the warning zone was less clear. After, the landing zone has a stronger boundary glow, and the delay before damage lands is slightly reduced.
Honor Royale Beta – New Limited-Time Mode
Season 16 adds a new casual mode called Honor Royale Beta — a 3-minute, 2v2v2 battle royale. Three teams of two drop at the edge of the map, farm monsters to level up, and fight to survive as the safe zone shrinks. Last team standing wins.
Three minutes is short enough that this feels more like a queue-filler than a mode you'd actually climb in. I think that's the point — something to play between ranked games without committing fifteen minutes to it.

Monthly Perks System: This is probably the biggest news for free-to-play players. The Monthly Perks System grants a free skin every month. The preview shows a Monthly Cache interface tied to daily login and in-game duration requirements, so it looks activity-gated rather than automatic.
Rise to Honor: Reaching Grandmaster and beyond unlocks additional tier rewards and exclusive privileges.
Weekly Hero Challenges: Weekly hero mission challenges are joining the mix to help with ladder climbing. Complete them with designated heroes and you'll earn extra season points.
New Equipment and Gameplay Changes
Assassin's Wristbow: Grants instant stealth on use, along with bonus Movement Speed and Health recovery.
Roaming Equipment: Now collects Gold from across the whole map, with Gold flying automatically to the roamer. Roamers have had the weakest income in the game for a while now, and this is aimed squarely at fixing that.
Bloodweeper: Grants extra maximum Health, improving survivability.
