Kongming can look unstoppable in the right hands. In the wrong moment, he can disappear before dealing any real damage. Understanding Kongming’s Skills and Passive
The passive is what makes Honor of Kings Kongming feel so explosive. Every skill hit adds a mark. At five marks, he summons five magic orbs that attack nearby enemies. These orbs favor enemy heroes, so a prepared passive can add serious pressure in a fight. 
Skill 1 fires three projectiles. Each projectile can add one mark. Stand close enough to land all three when it is safe. 
Skill 2 deals damage at both the starting point and the landing point of the dash. Hitting with both parts gives two marks. Repeated hits also apply a heavy slow. 
His ultimate deals more damage as the target loses health. A successful execution activates the passive and cuts the ultimate’s cooldown. The projectile can be blocked by another enemy, though. Always check the path before you cast it. 
Essential Combos and Advanced Techniques
The cleanest combo is Skill 1 into Skill 2. Landing all three projectiles gives three marks. Passing through the target with Skill 2 adds the final two. That triggers the passive in one quick rotation. This simple interaction is the heart of Honor of Kings Kongming gameplay. You can also build marks on minions or jungle monsters before moving into a fight. Try to arrive with the passive nearly ready. Save at least one dash for repositioning or escape. Skill 2 can still add a mark at its starting point when you dash away from an enemy. This lets you keep stacking while retreating. Do not rush the ultimate. Wait until the target is low and look for a clear angle. You can dash sideways near the end of the cast to change the projectile’s path. Mid-lane players can use Flash for an even sharper angle. Once the ultimate secures a kill, use the fresh passive to pressure the next target.
Best Build, Arcana, and Skill Priority
A reliable Honor of Kings Kongming build starts with Boots of the Arcane. The early magic penetration helps his damage come online faster. Insatiable Tome adds spell vamp and makes close fights less punishing. Savant’s Wrath is the main damage spike. Void Staff becomes important once opponents begin stacking magic defense. Finish with Splendor when you need a defensive option. Scepter of Reverberation is a good alternative if you want more poke and burst. Jungle players should open with Runeblade and take Smite.

For Arcana, use Nightmare for magic attack and penetration. Add Mind’s Eye for more penetration. Reincarnation gives useful sustain. Learn Skill 2 at level one. Max Skill 1 first for stronger damage and upgrade the ultimate whenever possible.
Mid Lane and Jungle Gameplay Strategy
Mid Kongming should clear the wave safely and then check both side lanes. Do not sit in mid while an easy finish is available elsewhere. Push first. Then rotate with a few passive marks prepared. Take Flash for safer escapes and creative ultimate angles. Jungle Honor of Kings Kongming follows the same basic idea but controls the pace through camps and objectives. Clear efficiently with Skill 1 and both parts of Skill 2. Take Smite and look for low-health lanes after finishing a camp rotation. Avoid forcing weak early fights. Farm toward your first major item and punish enemies who step too far forward. In either role, try to prepare passive marks before a gank. This gives you immediate burst without spending the whole fight building stacks. 
Teamfight Positioning, Matchups, and Counters
The hardest part of Honor of Kings Kongming is knowing when to enter. He is a finisher rather than an initiator. Stay at medium range when the fight begins. Poke with Skill 1 and let your frontline draw out important enemy abilities. Move in once a fragile target is low or isolated. Keep one Skill 2 charge ready in case the fight turns. Kongming is excellent against marksmen and mages with limited mobility. He struggles against assassins that can reach him quickly. Heavy crowd control is also dangerous. Tanks can absorb his burst and stand in front of his ultimate. Do not waste time trying to execute a healthy frontline hero. Look for a better angle on the back line. If no safe opening appears, keep poking and wait. Patience often deals more damage than a reckless dash.
