The city in which the game is set is officially known as Rooklyn. Just as the name suggests, this Gangstar Mirage City map is likely modelled on a real-world location,much like Gangstar: Vegas.Specifically, it is a recreation of Brooklyn, New York, so the name Gangstar:New York City would seem more appropriate. Next, I’ll take you through a quick overview of the Mirage City map’s layout.

The official promotional text explicitly states that players will need to expand their gang territory across multiple districts in Rooklyn, which can be divided into 3 sections based on regional characteristics and mission attributes: Northern Core, Central Street & Waterfront, and Southern Edge.
Northern Core
The Northern Core comprises several locations-Lower Hills, Rooklyn Heights, Downtown, Orarra Campus and Fort Williams-and includes a variety of commercial districts, university campuses and city centre routes. This is the Mirage City’s main area, featuring wide streets and towering buildings, much like the centre of a modern city today. This area primarily comprises Fairfax Gardens, Blood Hook, Blood Hook Docks, Mill’s Creek and Prospect Slope, covering the lower half of the city and connecting to the waterfront docks. Given the presence of docks, warehouses and other such facilities, it is highly likely that future in-game missions involving smuggling, theft, gang activity and clashes with the police will take place here. Southern Edge
Southern Edge is the most mysterious area in the whole of Mirage City. Official sources merely mention that it comprises Knave’s Green, Rust Avenue, Underbelly, Newman Park and Millchester Basin-a rural area characterised by official buildings, basins and dirt tracks-but beyond that, the official description remains very vague. Gang members can purchase items here that are unavailable in the other two districts, and the name ‘Underbelly’ seems to suggest that the rule of law is weak in this part of Mirage City. Based on previous experience, if there are any Easter eggs, there is a high probability of secret locations here; interested players may wish to explore this area thoroughly once the game is released.
