The anime trailer "Twilight" has been released in Genshin Impact

The developers of Genshin Impact have kept their promise and released a special animated trailer for Mavui, which was announced during the official livestream dedicated to the upcoming release of update 5.3. In almost 11 minutes, the trailer shows what happened in Natlan 500 years before the events of the game, as well as providing more insight into the ancient heroes and their relationships with the Pyro Archon.

The trailer begins with a conversation among four ancient heroes celebrating a short-term victory. After losing their companions Burkin and Sanhadja, the remaining bearers of ancient names prepare for their final battle against the Abyss. The next day, the Giant Tupak, the runner Vangiru, the strongman Sundiata, and the brave Menelik will reunite with the current Pyro Archon and head to the source of the corruption to temporarily drive the enemy forces from the region and begin the execution of Mavui's 500-year plan.

The heroes will not survive the battle, but only Tupak will leave the battlefield with Mavui. Upon reaching the Stadium of the Sacred Flame, the giant will leave the weakened goddess behind so that she can sacrifice herself and seal her mind and body in fire until the next catastrophe occurs 500 years later.

The interaction between the Archon and the ancient heroes is not the only thing showcased in the trailer. Part of the story is dedicated to Hini, Mavui's younger sister. The girl had a significant impact on the leader of the entire region and continues to be her sole support even hundreds of years after the battle with the Abyss.

The moment when Mavui cuts through the endless desert steppes on her motorcycle is actually a metaphor for her presence in the Sacred Flame. Passing by checkpoints that mark the years lived, she occasionally sees the image of her sister and ultimately stops to talk to her. At the "499" stop, which signifies the last year before her revival, Mavui finally addresses her memory to receive support and a reminder of the importance of her mission.

In the finale, the images of all the ancient heroes are shown again, compared to notable fighters of the present. In the last frames, Mualani, Kinich, Shilonen, Ororon, Iansan, and Chaska stand in the same order as the bearers of ancient names from their tribes. However, in addition to the six defenders of Natlan, a seventh appears in the form of the Traveler, whose ancient name will be revealed in the upcoming update 5.3.

Thus, the trailer concludes just as it began: Mavui has once again gathered the strongest heroes and is ready to give her last fight against the forces of the Abyss, which threaten not only Natlan but all of Teyvat. The conclusion of this story will be revealed in the final chapters of the Archon Quests, set to be released on January 1, 2025.
