The 2025 PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) is officially underway, with over 90,000 competitors registered for the first international PUBG Mobile Esports event of the year. The Open Qualifiers began on February 13th, giving new talent a chance to climb the ranks and compete for a spot in the PMGO Main Event.
With a $500,000 prize pool on the line, teams will need to prove themselves across multiple rounds before facing off against established PUBG Mobile Esports organizations. Given that this tournament is open to amateurs only, it ensures that fresh talent gets the spotlight.
Teams with at least one Ultimate 500-ranked player from Cycle 7 Season 20 or 21 have already secured a spot in Round 2 of the Open Qualifiers. Over the next few weeks, emerging squads will battle for a place in the PMGO Prelims, where they’ll face the top teams from the Uzbekistan Offline Qualifiers.
From there, twelve teams will earn the right to challenge PUBG Mobile’s top professionals in the PMGO Main Event. As for the main event, four professional teams have already secured their places based on their PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2024 performances.
Regnum Carya, Nigma Galaxy, 4Merical Vibes, and Influence Rage are confirmed, while four more squads will join from various regional competitions, including the PMSL SEA Spring, PMGO Korea Qualifier, and the Peacekeeper Elite League Spring season.
The Open Qualifiers will run until March 2nd, followed by the Prelims on April 10th-11th, leading into the Main Event on April 12th-13th. This tournament marks the start of a busy year for PUBG Mobile Esports, with the PUBG Mobile World Cup and the PMGC set to return later in 2025.
