PUBG Mobile is set to team with another major musical group as it has announced an upcoming crossover with K-pop girl group Babymonster. The event, arriving today, also helps to celebrate PUBG Mobile's seventh anniversary, with the girl group serving as their official anniversary ambassador from now until May 6th.
Babymonster will be recognisable to K-pop fans for being the unofficial successors to the hit girl group Blackpink. As YG Entertainment's follow-up act, they've been slowly creeping up the charts to compete with the legacy of their predecessor; and it seems the next step is to take them into the digital battleground with PUBG Mobile, with plenty of hit tracks to listen to as you battle for supremacy.
The collaboration adds a host of new content including Babymonster-themed photozones inspired by the group's aesthetic, new emotes such as the iconic Drip dance, and plenty of other exclusive in-game features like video buses you can hop onto for the chance to watch exclusive videos and earn some exciting rewards.
Rather fittingly, Babymonster's aforementioned predecessors Blackpink also made a high-profile appearance in PUBG Mobile, with their own themed cosmetics and more. Previous collaborations with the girl group even saw PUBG Mobile host its first-ever in-game concert headlined by Blackpink who also debuted a host of cosmetics, features and more.
With that in mind, it's little surprise that the next step for YG Entertainment is to push their newest successor to the global megahit into PUBG Mobile. And for PUBG Mobile itself, one of the double-edged swords that has distinguished it from chief competitor Fortnite has been the weirdly varied collaborations that it's hosted; from car makers to luggage manufacturers.
