While the biggest news for Honor of Kings so far today has been the unveiling of brand-new gameplay footage of the hotly anticipated Honor of Kings: World, don't let yourself forget that the Tencent Spark showcase also wrapped very recently. And it also brought big Honor of Kings news.
The biggest, of course, being the confirmation that Honor of Kings: Destiny the animated series would soon be coming to Crunchyroll. The series stars HoK fan-favourite Kai in the leading role, and it seems Tencent are hopeful this animated adaptation could give the same popularity rub that something such as Arcane did for League of Legends.
Not only that, but Honor of Kings is also set to host a (likely) Chinese-only collaboration with hit family animated film Ne Zha 2. And while this may not be all too relevant for a global audience, it is a good indicator of the big push to get Honor of Kings in front of a wider audience.
Arcane ideas
Honor of Kings has already made an effort to push into the forefront of Western viewers' minds with an appearance in the Amazon anthology Secret Level. However, Honor of Kings: Destiny may be the biggest push thus far.
Honor of Kings: Destiny is rumoured hit on Crunchyroll on May 31st, but only according to unconfirmed sources. However, judging from what we've seen of it in scattered trailers, the series looks to be quite impressive. But whether or not it resonates with audiences may be up to whether it does what Arcane accomplished in making the dense lore of a MOBA release palatable for a layman audience.
