Chipotle is no stranger to launching campaigns on Roblox, and the food chain's new in-game contest aims to attract young players to its restaurants for Cinco de Mayo.
In October 2021, Chipotle released its own Roblox game, called Chipotle Boorito Maze, in a Halloween-themed event that gifted free burritos to the first 30,000 visiting players for four days. After the event, the game was renamed Chipotle Burrito Builder, letting users build and roll burritos like a Chipotle worker. The food chain periodically launches in-game events for free physical menu items, with a recent one in February 2025, which asked players to complete delivery quests in exchange for free burritos. Now, Chipotle has announced a new Roblox experience for free real-life burritos and more.
To celebrate Cinco de Mayo, Chipotle is launching a Roblox gaming experience called "Ingredient Quest" that will give away free menu items to 50,000 winners. The event will begin on Monday, May 5, at 3:00 PM PT and will last for the whole day. To participate, fans will have to log into the Roblox game Chipotle Burrito Builder and visit the food chain's virtual restaurant. After talking to the virtual employee, they will receive a starter card pack of five ingredients to begin the "Ingredient Quest" experience. Players can then roll up in-game burritos for Burrito Bucks and use them to buy more card packs. The goal is to collect all 53 ingredient cards, and the first 50,000 players to achieve it will receive a unique redeem code for a free real-life Chipotle burrito. According to the contest's official rules, users can opt for other menu items like a burrito bowl, tacos, a salad, or a quesadilla. It is worth noting that the event and prizes are only valid for US and Canadian residents.

Chipotle's new Roblox event comes as recent games like Pokemon TCG Pocket have made trading cards wildly popular, with more young fans relating to digital card-collecting communities every day.
While Chipotle's "Ingredient Quest" experience on Roblox can be exciting news for players, the multiplayer title has recently come under fire for its policies on child safety. Earlier in April, Roblox was subpoenaed by a Florida Attorney who argued that the game may expose children to harmful content.
